This house is located in Cherryland, Sagae City, Yamagata Prefecture.
Turkish House in Sagae was built based on Turkish building architecture at Ottoman Empire Era.

New Airy

Assalamualaykum,
Got a special occasion to celebrate with your friend and family? If yes, you may want to try “New Airy” produced by Hoshiyama. It is a fancy restaurant with elegant style, yet with homey environment. The restaurant is located in Denryoku building (電力ビル)in the heart of Sendai city. You will be amazed with the restaurant service and hospitality (The staff bowed very deeply with the perfect angle). The restaurant serves delicious pancakes all day, topped with sweet maple syrup or coconut sauce. Another signature item from this restaurant is their “Hoshiyama Coffee.” Hoshiyama is an original coffee brand in Tohoku. A flavorful and rich coffee served in a beautiful cup will accompany you at cool summer night in Sendai.
When we visited the restaurant, we ordered Japanese Pancakes. It’s basically regular pancakes served with Matcha powder topping, black azuki beans, maple syrup, and whip cream along with fresh fruits. The taste was outstanding! We liked it very much.
We asked to the restaurant staff about the ingredients and, Alhamdullilah, they do not use any gelatin or alcohol or any non-Halal materials when they make pancakes. We also ordered shrimp and mushroom in olive oil and garlic sauce. This menu is also safe to consume for Muslims, insyaALLAH. We ordered their café latte and milk tea as well, and we were very satisfied. Everything was wonderful taste. We very much enjoyed the nice and comfy restaurant environment too.
Although you don't have to, we recommend you to dress up a little bit when you dine at this restaurant. Put on something dressy, and make the dinner a special one.

Sasa dango

Assalamualaykum
Brothers and Sisters,
Today, I would like to review one of the most popular treats from Niigata prefecture, and that is “Sasa dango.” Of course you have heard about “Dango (sweet dumpling made from rice flour)”
before, because you cannot really separate Dango from your life in Japan. Indeed, dango is one of Japanese traditional sweets. And this Sasa dango is primarily produced in Niigata.
This sweet dumpling with anko (red bean paste) filling wrapped in Bamboo leaves is the specialty of one of Tohoku prefectures.
The Sasa Dango we tried does not use any Haram materials, like most of other traditional Sasa Dango. So, insyaALLAH, it is Halal to consume for Muslims and of course for vegetarians as well, because this product does not use any animal based ingredients. Personally I liked this sweet so much! Natural flavor it gets from the leaves makes the sweet even more special. With chewy and sticky texture, you can enjoy it untill the last bite.
So if you have a chance to visit Niigata, please try this unique kind of Dango and tell us what you think.
Enjoy.

Tokoroten

Have you ever heard of "Tokoroten"? Do you know what it is?
It is a dish that people enjoy eating on a hot day during summer here in Japan.
It's a type of jelly and people love the texture and the feeling of how it goes down the throat.
How should you eat it? Use chopsticks like you do when you eat ramen or udon.
The jelly noodle is a Japanese old fashioned food that's everyone's favorite!
Tokoroten is made from seaweeds, and it's mostly consist of water.
Jelly is extracted from seaweeds such as Tengusa by boiling and cooling it down.
It's jelly but has firm texture.
This tokoroten is from "Inokai" in Niigata.
There are a lot of products made with seaweed in Niigata as the prefecture is facing the Sea of Japan.
Depending on the region, flavouring vary; some region uses dashi soy sauce and the other eat it with honey.
I would recommend you to use Halal soy sauce if you're Muslim.
Hope you enjoy eating Tokoroten this summer!

Halal baked chicken (ハラールベイクドチキン)

Assalamualaykum
Dear brothers and Sisters, if you happen to visit Sendai, especially Tohoku University, then you should try Halal certified food in Tohoku University Cafeteria.
Alhamdullilah, Tohoku University is one of Japanese universities that provide Halal food in its cafeterias.
There are several halal menus that you can try, for example, Japanese curry rice, grilled fish, chicken
Karaage (Japanese deep fried chicken), grilled and baked chicken, etc. My favorite one is Halal baked
chicken (ハラールベイクドチキン) in Aoba Dining/Engineering central cafeteria. With its salty and spicy
taste, I think the chicken is amazingly delicious and only costs 320 yen (For baked chicken and salad).
Served along with hot rice. This meal will recharge your day.
Enjoy

Asparagus Village in Shibata(新発田)

Assalamualaykum,
Brothers and Sisters, do you like asparagus?
If yes, then you definitely don’t want to miss out this information. There is Asparagus Village in Shibata(新発田), Niigata prefecture. You can try delicious, sweet, and organic asparagus in this place.
There are asparagus fields all over Shibata, from the beach to the hill. Visit the town and you will find unique dishes made with asparagus: asparagus tempura, asparagus pizza, etc.
Using asparagus from Shibata, I made asparagus pasta with tuna and olive oil. Simple cook but worth a try. The difference between Shibata asparagus and other kinds are the crisp texture and the tenderness. I could not stop eating this healthy vegetable.
