Geibikei

Geibikei is a gorge located in Inchinosaki, Iwate. This is a 2km gorge formed by Satetsu River and is surrounded by over 50 meters height of limestone cliffs. For those who love nature, this is the best and suitable place for you! 3 wonderful things I can summarize based on my last visit to Geibikei Gorge are:
1) There is boat ride that has traditionally been powered by boatman with his long pole. The boatman will guide you the majestic and beautiful view of waterfall, limestone cliffs and caves.
2) Feeding fishes and ducks while riding the boat is another unforgettable experience. The ducks and fishes will follow your boat riding. Kids will definitely be more excited and happy.
3) Finally, the boatman will sing a traditional Japanese folk song "Geibei Oiwake"
on the way back to deck while at same time enthusiastically pushing the boat with his pole.
This place is open throughout the year and the cruise is also available. Be sure to check this place out and enjoy its breathtaking view when you visit Iwate.
