Iris Festival at Mōtsū-ji (temple)

The beautiful season of the many-colored irises and contrasting greenery has arrived.
This time we bring you an Iris Festival in Iwate.
The place is Mōtsū-ji (temple), newly designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in June 2011.
With the view of the early summer green leaves reflecting off the waters and the brilliant irises, now Mōtsū-ji might just be at its most beautiful.

"山形代表 (Yamagata Daihyou)"

Do you know that Tohoku region is famous for its fruits? The cold weather of Tohoku is the best for fruits plantations.
Here is a special product; the representative of Yamagata prefectures: "山形代表 (Yamagata Daihyou)"
It is 100% pure juice. You may often see juices labeled as 100%, but many of them is condensed for easier transport. This Yamagata Made "山形代表" juice does not go through any condensation process. It is made from the best quality fruits!
Their tomato juice is so sweet that you won't believe it is a pure fruit juice. They taste amazing! My personal favorite is the Pear Juice.

You should try it whenever you come to Yamagata!

Cream Dango from Iwate prefecture

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
We really like Japanese sweets. Each region has its special sweets, which often include the region's special ingredients.
Today we introduce Cream Dango from Iwate prefecture. A sweet cream is hidden inside a rice flour (mochiko) dumpling. When you bite it, its like a stream of sweet river flow in to your mouth.
This Cream Dango comes in several flavours. On the shop that we visit, we found strawberry, green tea and goma (sesame seed) flavoured cream dango. The strawberrry and green tea flavoured use emulsifier, but we confirmed to the seller that it is not meat-based. So, Alhamdulillah we can savely eat them.
You can directly see and order the products on www.shoeidoh.co.jp
It looks like there is some more flavours offered.
