Usukawa-manju (literally means thin-skinned manju)

Do you know “Manju,” one of the very popular Japanese confectionaries? It is a type of Wagashi (Japaense confectionary) that Anko (red eans paste) filling is wrapped around by skin made from four.
In Fukushima prefecture, there is a very popular manju called “Usukawa-manju (literally means thin-skinned manju).”
Due the very thin skin, you can enjoy the firm flavor of Anko as well as its nice texture.
Usukawa-Manju is made with just anko, flour, and brown sugar syrup, following the traditional simple recipe. So, it is Halal (InsyaAllah).
You can try making your own manju at a souvenir shop inside Koriyama station in Fukushima prefecture.
They teach you how to make one so you’ll definitely enjoy the experience.
Furthermore, they will package your manju neatly. So, there you go! Here’s your one and only manju in the world.
The fee is just 200 yen for adults and 100 yen for children.
If you don't feel confident with your Japanese, you might want to take your Japanese-speaking friends with you since they don’t really understand English…
Enjoy making a traditional Japanese confectionary!
