The Tempura experience
Tempura is one of the well-known
Japanese dishes whereby seafood, vegetables and/or wild plants are
dipped into a mix of flour, eggs and water, and then fried until it
turns yellowish. Tempura is usually enjoyed with a special soy sauce to
give it more flavour.
On this day, we collected water from the
spring and also got mountain vegetables to make into tempura. The steps
are easy and simple. First, using a flour for tempura (which requires no
eggs), pour it into a mixing bowl and
also pour an enough amount of water. Mix them well and you are set!
Make sure the main ingredients you are using (in our case the mountain
vegetables) are chopped up but not too small. Then you dip them into the
mixture, and make sure they soaked well. Heat up a pan of oil, and then
you can finally fry them and watch as they turn into mouth-watering
tempuras!
