Did you know, in Yamagata, there is another version of okonomiyaki (Japanese style pancake) called dondon-yaki? Its main feature is that it is completely rolled up on a stick with sauce spread on top. It has a lot of variations for its fillings. For Muslims, the halal fillings are of course the ones that do not contain meat such as cheese, squid, egg and etc. It tastes really great and best eaten hot. Also, the price is cheap (¥200) too considering the size of the dondon-yaki. Try it. You will definitely love this food.
