Q. Does Calbee sell any halal product?
Calbee: Calbee Tnawat (Thailand) and Calbee URC (Philippines), both of them belong to international Calbee group, sell products that are certified by respective countries.
Q. Does Calbee sell those products in Japan?
Calbee: As of today, there is no product that meets the Halal requirements in Japan.
Q. What type of business is Calbee going to develop for Muslims?
Calbee: When we produce and distribute our products in a country in which there are great number of Muslim customers, we are going to get the certification from the country.
However, noting is currently under consideration.
Conclusion:
We found out that all Calbee products sold in Japan are haram and that Calbee sells halal products in Thailand and Philippines. That being said, it’s better to stay cautious because not all Calbee products are halal.
