[Daikon]
Daikon or white radish is one of the most popular vegetables in Japan.
Based on a recent survey by Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare,
daikon is the most eaten vegetable in Japan followed by onion and
cabbage. In fact, this vegetable is a key ingredient in many Japanese
dishes.
Here is the giant daikon that is locally grown in Ura-bandai
area of Fukushima: Wasezawa’s Kougen Daikon Don’t worry it is safe
and radioactively free to consume.
Japanese people believe that daikon tastes better during winter and bitter during summer. Personally, my favourite daikon dish is daikon soup.
Let’s enjoy this popular Japanese vegetable, as it’s good for our body.
Don’t worry, it’s low in calories; nobody gets fat eating daikon.
